Q: What are BFT’s top negotiations priorities?

  • A meaningful increase in compensation
  • Increased student supports (more case managers) for our Full Inclusion model of education (via caseload caps and limits on assessments per case manager)
  • Improvements in working conditions for our Independent Study teachers
  • An increase in the employer contribution to the cost of medical benefits

BFT will be meeting at 11:45 near 14th and Washington. See attached map for location. Look for tall BFT banners to find us.

Make sure to wear your BFT t-shirt.

Join teachers, students, parents and elected officials in demanding that the state fully fund public education.

We need to let our new Governor and Legislature know that we are joining UTLA and OEA to demand:

 

January 11th Berkeley Walk-Ins

BFT is Walking-in with CALIFORNIA for UTLA and OEA on January 11th, 2019!

 

In schools all over California—from San Diego to Sacramento, Anaheim to Oakland—educator unions and allies are planning to participate in CTA’s call for a statewide day of action on 1/11/19, by wearing #REDforED and taking photos, to stand together with United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA) and Oakland Education Association as they fight for the schools our students deserve. Many schools and unions are also organizing “walk-ins”.
