BFT Teacher of Color Facilitator Job Posting

Job Title: BFT Teachers of Color Network Co-Facilitators 

Deadline to apply: May 12th by email. Interviews week of May 22nd. 

The BFT Teachers of Color Network is a BFT committee of members who are interested in taking action to improve the recruitment, hiring, support and retention of teachers of color in BUSD. In order to support this BFT committee the Executive Board will fund Co-Facilitator positions for the 2023-2024 school year to coordinate the work of this group, and to provide leadership on this important issue. 

Job Description: 

● Facilitate at least one business meeting or mobilization of the BFT Teachers of Color Network two times per year. 

● Meet with District administrators working in this area, with assistance from BFT Officers, at least two times per year. 

● Meet three times per year with the BUSD Consultant for Teachers of Color Recruitment and Retention or BERRA TSA. 

● Communicate with the BFT President and Vice President after each meeting. 

● Coordinate two social/networking events in late Fall and early Spring. 

● Bring updates and information from the Network to the BFT Executive Board and to committees working on this issue. 

● Arrange for updates to the Network from BFT members working on committees related to the recruitment and retention of teachers of color in BUSD. 

Term: August 14, 2023 – June 4, 2024
Compensation: $800.00 stipend for each Co-Facilitator, to be paid in June.
